Who's Looking For Me: Part II

Online Portfolio and Social Media Presence:

Last issue I promised a deep dive on all 10 points. Today I deliver some thoughts on the first of those ten points, "Online Portfolio and Social Media Presence." Let's have a closer look at the following points....

  • Building a professional online portfolio showcasing your illustrations.

  • Using platforms like Behance, Dribbble, or your own website to display your work.

  • And maintaining an active presence on social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn to connect with potential clients to showcase your latest projects.

Building my own portfolio has in all seriousness been a bit of an arduous or relatively difficult process.

Why? Because it's all about ME!

It's important in my experience to learn that it's so important to keep in mind your own focus, which should ultimately be driven by your highest vibrational desire. I've heard time and again that to build something really great you will need the Vision AND the Passion.

Apps and platforms like Behance and Artstation and even Deviant Art have provided outstanding platforms to share my vision. Yet - how does the passion come through? That's where your more direct social media comes in I believe.

You can maintain an active presence using Facebook and Instagram these days. It makes for a strong interactive combo for reaching out and communicating with your growing audience.

Also - it's becoming an ever increasing powerful tool for establishing your presence in a sea of shining stars out there - this would be your website to which you will be looking to funnel most if not all your potential business through.

At the same time you are building a portfolio that best exhibits your strengths it's equally important to realize that it's also all about who you know.

I found that oftentimes having an amazing portfolio didn't get me everywhere I wanted to go as a professional artist; it definitely garnered audiences, but that was not the end by any means. It was also obvious that my networking skills needed honing so that what I had to show was framed in how I was able to present it.

Tune in next time for the Part III: Networking It.
